As an African American Educator and Leader Valerie desires to make a difference for the people residing in Detroit with special focus on the urban youth.

Valerie Parker is a native of Detroit, MI graduating from Central High School in 1978.

Valerie has been a VOICE for the youth in Detroit since 2005 and as seen the injustice toward the urban youth basic education required by law. It is time for us to FIGHT for our future generation. Valerie has a Masters in African American Studies and Masters in Sociology, School, Society, and Violence. Valerie is an FBA talented tenth and it is time for us to make a difference concerning our youth public school academic experience while President Trump is reconstructing the Educational System. Valerie is a precinct delegate in her community and was trained by the Honorable John Conyers Jr. who made a difference during his era for African Americans and other cultures during his service to the people. Valerie Parker sits under the leadership of Bishop Ried pastor of The River Church.

As an At-Large Council person Valerie can assist the whole city of Detroit youth and families with resources via of community meetings.

Valerie has experienced the trauma of having her vehicle stolen and being treated like the criminal at Detroit Police Impound. Victims should not be treated with disrespect.

The services being offered to the citizens of Detroit are not being shared by current City Council At-Large seat holders. Citizens have the right to know.

Women who desire to start a business in Detroit should be aware of the PAY to PLAY and City Council should protect them.

The property tax Foreit fee is causing more financial hardship on homeowners. It should be removed when an individual signs up for the payment plan as well as interest fee.
